My name is Sarah-Jean, I’m in my 20’s and I currently live in beautiful New Hampshire. "Live Free Or Die!"
I am married, have little chihuahua named Mini, and the most beautiful daughter on the face of the planet.
Not bragging, just telling it like it is!
My husband, Daein, graduated from University of Maine and has a BS in Molecular Biology. He
currently works for a small, but growing company based out of Israel. His position is "Applications Engineer"
but his job title doesn't really describe what he does. He builds and repairs machines that detect cancer. He flys
all over the country to repair the machines and he's gone almost all the time. Hopefully it won't always be like that.
Daein and I met on the internet in April of 2003. We met in person two months later. We had no idea what we were doing because we
had never been in a relationship with anybody before! (or slept with anybody before!!!) Yes, hard to believe
that there are people like that left in the world... but there are. We might be the only 2 though... We dated for about
1 1/2 years and got married in May 2005.
BORING STUFF:
I used to be a professional dancer, which you can read all about below in the Dancing section, if you care to.
Before I got married and had a baby, I used to have a lot of free time. I was very creative, played guitar and piano,
write poetry, short stories, danced, sang, read a lot of books, and all sorts of stuff. I don't get to do anything like
that anymore so it's hard to remember who I am sometimes...
I've been through a lot in my short life, as anyone who knows me will tell you so. I am currently working
on writing my autobiography. My life is a non-stop saga and it's hard to even keep up sometimes!
As far as hobby's go, I like dancing (of course), choreographing dances, yoga, Pilates, swimming, working out and execising, walking,
reading, writing, cooking, playing guitar, writting songs, listening to music, designing web sites, shopping (does that count as hobby?),
and most importantly, taking time each day to stop and smell the roses. Okay, maybe that's stuff I used to do! I'm lucky if I
get time to take a shower and brush my teeth everyday!!! I know that sounds gross right? My daughter is almost 2 and she takes up a lot
of my time. I love being a mom but sometimes I want a break...
Don't want to shove it down your throat if you're not "into" this sort of thing, but I am a very spiritual person. I definitely have a
strong faith in Christianity, pray all the time, and want to raise my daughter to love the Lord and do what's right.
I wish I could tell the whole world about Jesus Christ and how good He is, but I'm only one little
person, so I leave that up to the missionaries.
DANCING:
I started dancing in 1988. I went to a small ballet/gym school in Townsend Massachusetts. At age three, I took ballet lessons at Michelle Goodwin's School of Dance, in Townsend MA. At age four, I went to High Gate Dance Academy in Pepperell MA, and was in their production of The Little Mermaid. At age five, I went to Spectrum Dance Theatre, also in Townsend MA, and took tap. I stayed at Spectrum Dance Theatre and took ballet for the next seven years.
During that time, I started taking Jazz at Dotty's Dance World in Brookline New Hampshire. I became a sought after student over the years. I performednumerous solos and taught pre-primary ballet in 1996-97 at Dotty's Dance World. I continued dancing at Dotty's for seven years until their closing in June of 1998. That winter, I performed in Granite States Ballet's production of The Nutcracker.
I continued dancing at Spectrum Dance Theatre, doing summer programs, taking up Modern, and eventually auditioning for Spectrum Dance Performing Company in September of 1998. I was acepted to appretice position for one year, then the following year I was promoted to full company position in September of 1999. I began pointe at this time also. That June I was to perform a solo en pointe, which was a great acheivment.
In April of 2000, I was offered a position in Middlesex Ballet Acedemy's production of the classic ballet, Giselle. With only two months to the performance, I was taking classes up to four classes a week, plus the other six classes at Spectrum Dance Theatre. I was very content and just where I wanted to be in my career.
Sadly, Spectrum Dance Theatre announced it's closing twoo weeks before the year end performance. It was devistating for me. My teacher, Robyn Goulette, was so much more than a teacher to me. She was like my mother, my mentor, and my friend. I miss her very much.
I started looking for a new school in June/2000. Meanwhile, I assistent taught a level two ballet class with a well respected teacher. In July I started my own small dance school, in Alton NH, His Feet Dance Theater. I had only about six students, but it was a start. I put on a show August 12th and it was a great sucess.
In September 2000 when classes would start for me, I had not yet found a dance school. Sterling Dance Acedemy offered me a full company possition in Sterling Dance Company, and Middlesex Ballet Academy offered me a full year scholarship if I went to their school. Everyone wanted me, but none of them seemed right, till October of 2000, I found Dance Down Under, in Ashby MA. I went there for five months and did not return the next year.
In August 11th 0f 2001 I directed another show with His Feet Dance Theater. This time with about 15 students. Another great achievement for me in my dance career.
On October 24th of 2001, I was in a car accident that prevented me from dancing for over 8 months. After numerous chiropracter appointments and months of healing, I started dancing again.
I directed two shows: one August 24th and one September 7th, 2002. It was a great year and a great show, eventhough I was not able to dance as much or as well as before. Of course it was very frusterating not being able to do all of the dance steps I used to be able to do so easily, but I made it through with out too many tears.
I moved on to dance with The Arts Center Of Greater Wolfeboro from September 2002 to January 2003. I performed in their performance of The Nutcracker as The Dew Drop Fairy.
Currently, I am not taking classes anywhere, but I do yoga and Pilates at home to keep my body in shape as best I can. I've lost 20 pounds in the last 6 months and I have about 10 pounds left to go. I wish I had more time to spend on myself, because I want to get my body back the way it used to be, but I just don't have time anymore.
FAITH:
My faith defies who I am. Jesus is the most important thing in my life. I want to make an impact in my generation. We have been called by God to go out and preach to the nations. Everyone needs to know the true love of God. "Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." I John 4:7-10
I beleive all the scriptures contained in the Old and New Testements is verbally, plenary and inerrantly inspired by God. It is the authoritative guide for all Christian understanding, life and ministry. I beleive there is but one God eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Each is infinite, eternal and almighty.
I beleive that Jesus Christ, the son, is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. He died, shedding His literal blood in His substitution death for sinners, then buried, arose from the grave, ascendeed into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the father.
I beleive that salvation is a gift from God. This was accomplished by Christ's substitutionary death; all that believe in Him are justified by the shedding of His blood. Because salvation is given by grace, the believers salvation is eternally secure.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is sent upon all that believe in Jesus Christ. This takes place in each believer at the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit lives inside you and helps you make right desisions.
"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."
Matthew 21:27
